Effects of Marine Renewables and other marine uses on Biodiversity – Atlantic Area

Oceans and marine life define the Atlantic Area as so several human activities which can have significant impacts on biodiversity.

The engagement and work with stakeholders of the marine environment is key to minimise impacts of activities like offshore renewable energy and fisheries on important marine fauna groups like sea birds and marine mammals.

The aim of this workshop is to identify such impacts, discuss its minimisation and find ways for sustainable development implementation. Case studies will be presented to demonstrate how to tackle these issues as well as to encourage debate.
